June 29, forwarded from mom, written by Aunt Vicki
The night was mostly peaceful, but you could tell the time is getting closer. Late in the evening, Mom whispered to Ali that her father had come. We all gathered, talked & prayed together. It was a sweet time. We decided to head to sleep and prepare for the next day. The girls took turns staying with Mom through the night. In the morning about 8am, Pam was with her and watched her face melt into a smile. She whispered, "Wonderful", then started a conversation that lasted about an hour with those on the other side of the veil. Here are some of the phrases we were able to hear... Oh, my ... lovely... beautiful... I'll wait for him... London? ... Where were you born? ... mortified! (giggle)... Did it do you any good? (giggle)... nodding her head yes... hahahahaha Grandma!... oh, my what stories... oh my goodness! ... for the underworthy (giggle)... she laughed with her shoulders ... oh how very nice... I did it! ... Did you bring out the jug? (giggle) . All the way through we heard "thank you, much like she was being congratulated. Then Daddy woke up and we moved into the day. Pam read poems outloud while daddy dressed. Ali made sweet rolls and eggs for breakfast. We took turns watching Mom, dressing, doing wash and chores before Heidi (her nursing assistant - we Adore her) came and cared for Mom. Charlee (the nurse in charge of Mom's hospice care-we Adore her) came about the same time as Annie (a woman that came to play the harp for us) arrived. We enjoyed soft beautiful lever harp music for about an hour. Dad said it is the most peaceful he has felt in a long time. Now its back to watching and reassuring her as she moves through sleep and struggling...
Thinking of you all... much love
