OCD

Yes, I admit it - Jack has OCD!

My guy is fixated on KEYS. It is the first thing he wants when we wakes in the morning and from his naps. It is the first thing he wants when daddy comes home from work.....KEYS!!! There is no redirecting him. Once he has the keys we wants to go and play in the car. He could be in the car for hours on end, every day, if we let him. He can even say "ignition". He is very good at putting the correct key into the right door.

Jack also has a thing for putting on my shoes. He makes me wear shoes the entire day. If I am barefoot, he'll take my feet and say "shhhh" for shoes and then go to the closet and pull out a pair, bring them to me, and either point at the inside of the shoe (implying for me to put my foot in it) OR take my foot and try to shove it in the shoe himself. Surprisingly, he always brings a matching pair. He also likes to have me change my foot attire throughout the day - such a fashion conscious boy!

Another obsession Jack has is for tissues and blowing his nose. It is the first thing he wants before he even gets out of bed in the morning. He can even say tissue. He blows his nose, blose mine and Joel's, and then goes and throws it away either in the garbage can or the toilet. He is too funny about it. He does it several times a day, and most of the time his nose is just fine.

Other funny things he does that I want to remember:

Several times a day he likes to find my bellybutton and blow raspberries on my belly. He then gets something to wipe his slobber off with.

We have this book Gma and Gpa Tanner gave him for Christmas with animals and different textures. On the car trip to Irrigon a while back he was in his car seat and I tried to mix it up. I used his bare foot to feel the textures. Now everytime we read that book he wants to take his shoes and socks off and pet all the animals.

Jack loves to open packages. Whenever we get one he runs to the key drawer, pulls one out, and comes running back. Because you can't open a box without keys, ever.

Jack has this thing about Joel and food. Jack loves to share his food with his dad. If he is eating in the car, before any bite, Jack will offer it to his dad first. Does he ever offer it to me, starving in the corner? No. In fact, he will come and take any food that I have and go and give it to his dad. For new foods, it doesn't matter how many times I try and offer new foods in many different ways, Jack is not interested. But as soon as dad eats it, wow, Jack gobbles it up. It is really funny.

One of Jack's favorite games is hiding something and then looking for it. He will hide it, put his hands out in the where position, and then call it. This game as influenced looking for anything. Now when we ask him to go get anything, like his shoes or a book, he will stand in one place and yell on the top of his lungs "DAAA, DAAAA" (even if he knows how to say item he is looking for) like it is going to come to him. If it doesn't jump out immediately, he will crouch down or squat and yell some more. We have to remind him that calling is good, but that he does need to look for it too!

Jack LOVES to say prayers. We do it several times an hour. Over every new food we get when we are eating. Every activity that we do has a prayer before we start it. And sometimes it is just for fun. He is so good at holding his hands together...not always through the entire prayer, but, oh well. I've never prayed so much my entire life.

There are so many more. Jack just makes me laugh constantly. He is the cutest thing I have ever laid eyes on. He's such a good boy, and very helpful :)
